Interior Designer Kim Annick Mitchell founded KAM DESIGN in 2012 to create timeless and expressive interiors unique to each client. KAM DESIGN provides comprehensive residential interior design solutions for whole homes, including kitchens, baths, renovations and new builds, with unparalleled client service. Kim is a creative specialist who is devoted to the visual arts and is a consummate professional with her eye on every detail to lead a successful project. Kim is equally passionate at creating architectural interior renovation plans, transforming a room with luxurious materials, bespoke details, and art, and project management with contractors, architects and trades teams, leading her busy, discerning clients through all elements of a design project.

Kim’s designs are informed and inspired by the client’s functional needs and aesthetic dreams. Kim has the innate ability to pinpoint a client’s personal style. As one satisfied client expressed, the design “is exactly what I wanted, but could never have imagined it myself!” Kim follows a holistic approach to each project starting from the outside in; paying close attention to the existing space and location, architectural details are balanced with a rich mix of materials, nuanced color, classical scale and design features that express clients’ design aspirations interpreted through their lifestyle, experiences, interests and aesthetic preferences.

She is also a Westchester Home Magazine’s Design Awards 2022 winner for Living Space and finalist for Traditional Kitchen and Modern Bath, 2021 finalist for Traditional Bath and Master Bedroom Suite, 2019 Traditional Kitchen and Traditional Bath Finalist, 2018 Dining Room Winner and 2017 Foyer Finalist. Kim is also thrilled to have had the experience as a Design Lead for HGTV’s hit home program, Buying & Selling with The Property Brothers, Season 5, filmed in Westchester County which premiered July/Aug 2016. Kim was also invited to be a Design Lead for Property Brothers, Season 10, Episode 9 that premiered in February 2017. Her acute knowledge of the residential design world is applied from her experience as the sole interior designer with management responsibilities at a high-end residential design-build firm. Kim is an Allied Practitioner of The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), 2024 - 2025 ASID Metro NY Westchester Liaison and received her A.A.S Interior Designer degree at the acclaimed Parsons The New School for Design which honed her artistic talents and design passion into interior architecture and decorative arts skills. In 2020/2021, Kim came full circle as Part-time Faculty at Parsons Open Campus.

Kim’s dedication to creative pursuits began with a 14-year career in the image-related fields of the New York advertising and marketing industries with companies including J. Walter Thompson. It is through this creative development and branding experience that Kim developed her client and project management skills, as well as gained the appreciation for a clear vision as the essential element in creating inspiring work. Kim is passionate about nature, art and continues to feed her love for cultural and historical reference through travel including Iceland, Kenya, Thailand, Australia, Europe and South and Central America.

Kim received her B.A. from Boston College, summa cum laude. Kim lives in Larchmont, NY with her husband and twin daughters.
